MINNEAPOLIS -- Playing in her first collegiate game,
McKenna Nachreiner (FY, Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee HS) scored three first-half goals for a hat trick, leading the Augsburg University women's soccer team in a 5-0, season-opening nonconference win over Crown College on Saturday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Nachreiner scored her first collegiate goal 13 seconds into the game, completing a give-and-go with
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS), putting a drive to the upper left corner of the net from 15 yards out.
• Her second goal came just 4:27 later, leaping to take a one-time shot to the right corner off a corner kick by
Hannah Hatfield (SO, Rogers, Ark./Rogers HS).
• Nachreiner completed her hat trick in the 40th minute, putting home a rebound off a shot by Ponce.
• The Auggies added two goals in a 3:32 span in the second half, as
Phoebe Alva Rosa (SO, Jackson, Wyo./Jackson Hole HS) scored her first collegiate goal, sliding a rebound off a Ponce shot into the net in the 54th minute, and Ponce scored her seventh career goal as an Auggie in the 58th minute, scoring on a solo break and taking advantage of a challenge by the Crown goalkeeper.
• Augsburg dominated throughout the game, outshooting Crown by a 38-6 margin in the game -- 22-2 in the first half, 16-4 in the second half. Augsburg controlled possession by a 53-to-47-percent advantage, and had seven corner kicks while not allowing a Crown corner.
• Twenty-one different Auggies saw game action, all playing 10 minutes or more.

Iz Shuster (SR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) and
Tess Enlow (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) split time in goal, with each recording a save in a half of play.
