Auggie unbeaten streak snapped by St. Kate's

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Outshot by a 24-9 margin in the game, the Augsburg University women's soccer team saw its seven-game unbeaten streak to start the season snapped with a 3-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss at St. Catherine University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Catherine scored a goal 12 minutes into the contest, then added tallies in the 62nd and 76th minutes to snap the Auggies' three-game shutout streak.
• The Wildcats had 24 shots to Augsburg's nine, including a 15-3 advantage in the second half. St. Catherine also had eight corner kicks to Augsburg's two.
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) had three shots in the game for Augsburg, with Megan Hensel (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS), Hannah Hatfield (SO, Rogers, Ark./Rogers HS), Abby Rosebur (SO, South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) and Allison Hookom (SO, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) also recording shots on-goal.
• Goalkeeper Iz Shuster (SR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS), making her eighth start of the season, surrendered her first goals of the 2023 campaign, while contributing nine saves.

FOR THE FOES
• Ari Green scored two goals for St. Catherine, wiht Kallan Tuominen contributing the other Wildcat tally.
• Goalkeeper Kate Praetz had six saves.
