EDGEWOOD 3, AUGSBURG 0

• The Auggie attack struggled to find its footing in the first match of the day, hitting just .084 through all three sets. The Eagles were only slightly better with a .110 hitting clip.
• After taking an early 9-5 lead in set one, the Eagles remained in the drivers seat for the duration of the set as they cruised to a 25-16 win.
• Set two was a much closer affair with each team holding brief leads through the midpoint. With Augsburg leading 19-18, Edgewood took the next five points to take a 23-19 lead that proved to be too much to overcome for the Auggies.
• Augsburg held a 22-20 advantage late in the third set, but the Eagles rallied to take five of the final six points for a 25-23 win to complete the sweep.
Bri Van Well (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) led the charge with nine kills for the Auggies. Defensively, Torrie Rehder (JR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) finished with a team-high 21 digs.

WARTBURG 3, AUGSBURG 1

• The offenses were not particularly sharp in Augsburg's second match of the day either, with Wartburg outhitting Augsburg .139 to .093.
• Trailing 20-15 in set one, the Auggies took four of the next five points to cut the deficit to just two at 21-19. Augsburg kept it close for the remainder of the set, but the Knights ultimately claimed the 25-22 win.
• The Auggies held a 17-12 lead in set two, but a six-point Wartburg run gave the Knights an 18-17 lead. Augsburg managed to reclaim the lead and work its way to set point at 24-23, but another Wartburg rally saw the Knights take four of the final five points to secure a 27-25 win.
• Set three had a similar feel to its predecessor, eventually winding up with each team at 25. The Knights rallied on the first two set point opportunities for the Auggies at 26-25 and 27-26, but the third time was the charm for Augsburg as it stayed alive with a 29-27 win.
• The fourth set came down to the wire once again, with the two teams tied at 23 each. The Knights managed to strike the final blow, claiming the sets final two points to earn the 3-1 match victory.
