Auggie men drop 5-0 decision to Royals

BLAINE, Minn. – Outshot by a 31-17 margin in the game, the Augsburg University men's hockey team suffered a 5-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss at Bethel University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first period, Bethel scored three goals in the second period and twice in the third period for the shutout victory, splitting the weekend series with the Auggies.
Landon Parker (FY, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) had three shots for the Auggies, while also winning 11-of-14 faceoffs on the evening.
Tommy Carls (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS), Peyton Hanson (SO, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS), Jake Hale (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Apex Virtual School), Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) and Cade Stibbe (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) had two shots each for the Auggies.
Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) had 26 saves.

FOR THE FOES
• Joe Westlund had a goal and an assist for Bethel. Justin Kelley had three assists.
• Travis Allen had 17 saves for the shutout win in goal.
