ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's basketball team wrapped up its season series with Bethel University on Wednesday evening, dropping a 69-60 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference decision to the Royals at the Robertson Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies held a narrow advantage at 24-22 with 3:42 to play in the opening half, but the Royals closed the half on a 9-0 scoring run to take a 31-24 lead at halftime.
• Augsburg found a spark midway through the second half, using a 13-6 scoring run to tie the game at 53-53 with 4:33 on the clock. Bethel regained control from there, however, regaining the lead on the ensuing possession and holding it for the remainder of the contest.
• The Auggies outshot the Royals 45.0% (27-of-60) to 44.1% (26-of-59) in the game and won the battle under the hoop with a 40-30 scoring advantage in the painted area. Augsburg also featured the better bench performance with a 23-15 advantage in reserve scoring.

Caden Sullivan (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) came off the bench to lead the Auggies with 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting, also adding two rebounds and a steal.

Colin Meade (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting, also contributing seven rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
Isaac Rabaey (JR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) also reached double figures with 10 points and six rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
• Payton Thomsen and Zach Doely finished with 16 points each to lead all scorers.
UP NEXT
• The Auggies will take on St. Olaf College on the road at 3 pm on Saturday (1/27) in the second game of a doubleheader with the women's teams.
