HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stein started her second career multi-goal game with an unassisted goal 4:26 into play, stealing the puck at her own blue line, working up the ice and snapping a shot from the right faceoff dot. Her second goal came on the power play 8:18 into the third period, scoring on a one-timer off a tic-tac-toe play from
Tenley Stewart (SO, Esko, Minn./Esko HS) and
Malia Schubert (SR, Mantorville, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS). Stein is now tied for the team lead with 10 goals on the season.
• Bonnell scored her first two collegiate goals on Saturday. Her first came in the final minute of the second period, as she collected a loose puck at center ice and sprinted up the left side, sliding the puck in from the slot. Her second goal came on the power play at the 1:32 mark of the third period, firing a shot from the right side to an open net, on a rebound of a shot from the left side by Stein. Stewart had the second assist on the goal.
•
Nora Stepan (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead with a power-play goal with 1:50 left in the first period, slicing a rising wrist shot from between the faceoff circles, assisted by
Elizabeth Fagerlind (JR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) and
Emily Cronkhite (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS).
• Cronkhite capped the scoring for the Auggies with her 10th goal of the season at the 13:42 mark of the third period, stealing a puck at the blue line and walking in for an unassisted tally.
