ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's basketball team took on Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference battle on the road on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Pipers 70-49 at Hutton Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first half contained six lead changes, but it was the Auggies leading narrowly at 31-28 at halftime. The teams played to a 39-39 tie with 14:30 on the clock in the second half, but it was all Hamline from that point as the Pipers claimed the lead and began to pull away, eventually pushing it to double digits as they secured the 70-49 win.
• Though each team had 33 rebounds in the game with nine offensive and 24 defensive, the Auggies were much better at capitalizing with a 19-8 advantage in second chance points. Augsburg also held a 29-20 edge in points from the bench.

Ali Axmed (FY, Lakeville, Minn./North HS) was the scoring leader with nine points on 3-of-6 shooting, while the trio of
Colin Meade (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS),
Elias Batala (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS), and
Noah Loehr (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Rosemount HS) each finished with seven points.

Austin Jentzen (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn. St. Michael-Albertville HS) led the team with eight rebounds, also adding six points.
FOR THE FOES
• Austin Holt led all scorers with 19 points in the game, also coming near a double-double with nine rebounds.
