ST. PAUL, Minn. –
Kalena Myers (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) hit a go-ahead three-pointer with just three seconds on the clock, and the Augsburg University women's basketball team hung on for a 58-55 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over Hamline University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After playing to a 12-12 tie at the end of the first quarter, Augsburg managed to gain a narrow advantage at 26-25 headed into halftime. The Pipers briefly gained the lead in the third, quarter, but the Auggies closed the quarter on a 9-4 run to take a 41-38 lead into the final frame.
• Though the Pipers fought to tie the game four times early in the fourth, the Auggies did not trail until Hamline jumped on top at 52-50 with 2:10 remaining. The teams went back and forth from there, eventually knotting the game up at 55 each with just 10 seconds on the clock. Myers took the ensuing inbounds pass the length of the floor, draining what proved to be the game winner with a step-back three pointer with just three seconds remaining.
• Turnovers proved to be crucial in the contest, with Hamline committing 16 to Augsburg's 11. The Auggies capitalized on that margin, outscoring Hamline 14-8 in points off turnovers.
• Myers finished as the scoring leader for the Auggies, scoring 13 points and adding six assists, five rebounds, and a steal.
Amira LaDuke (SO, Cass Lake, Minn./Cass Lake-Bena HS) and
Anja Smith (SR, Keawaskum, Wis./Saint Mary's Springs HS) finished with 11 points each, also adding seven and three rebounds, respectively.

Wakinyela Bear (SO, Morrison, Colo./Meskwaki HS) scored eight points and pulled down six boards, and
Melanie Delestrez (SO, Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens HS) and
Saylor Gallagher (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) led the effort off the bench with five points each.
