ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Outgained by a 518-to-166 margin, the Augsburg University football team dropped a 73-8 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest at Bethel University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bethel collected 518 yards of total offense, with 353 passing yards and 165 rushing yards, while limiting Augsburg to just 157 passing yards and nine net rushing yards. Bethel forced four Augsburg turnovers, with a fumble return for a touchdown and an interception return for a touchdown. The Royals scored on nine of its 12 drives in the game.
• Augsburg scored its lone touchdown late in the third quarter, when
Marcus Freeman (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to

• Defensively,
Rio Starr (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had seven tackles (three solo), including two tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
Nemo Ponder (SO, Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) had six tackles (four solo).

• Cooper Drews completed 15-of-19 passes for 286 yards and four touchdowns for Bethel.
• Aaron Ellingson rushed nine times for 85 yards and four touchdowns.
