Auggie volleyball wins 6th straight match

MINNEAPOLIS – Behind Bri Van Well's (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) fourth kill-dig double-double of the season, the Augsburg University volleyball team claimed its sixth straight victory, a four-set Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference triumph over Carleton College on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Van Well had an impressive night on the outside, claiming a season-high 22 kills on .333 hitting, adding 10 digs. She had eight kills and four digs in the first set, which Augsburg won 25-12. Augsburg hit .462 in the opening set, while Carleton hit a negative-.120 in the set.
• The teams exchanged victories in the next two sets, and Augsburg scored a 27-25 win in the fourth set, led again by Van Well, who had seven kills and two digs in the frame.
Madison Gully (SR, Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis HS) had 13 kills on .269 hitting, tying a single-match high in her two seasons as an Auggie. 
• Ava Carlson (FY, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) continued her solid debut campaign for the Auggies, claiming her fifth kill-dig double-double of the season with an 11-kill, 10-dig effort, hitting .258 and adding three service aces.
• Setter Angel Vo (SR, Blaine, Minn./Mounds View HS) recorded her 12th assist-dig double-double of the season, with 24 assists and 11 digs, adding two service aces. Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS), had 29 assists with nine digs and an ace, and Torrie Rehder (SR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) claimed her eighth match this season with 20 or more digs, with 25.
• Elizabeth Oster (SO, Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) had nine kills with two blocks (one solo), while GK Lemonds (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) had three blocks (one solo) and five kills, and Taylor Hoehns (JR, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford HS) had three block assists and four kills.

FOR THE FOES
• Kerrigan Candra led the way for Carleton with 14 kills on .306 hitting, adding six digs and a solo block.
• Megan Smith had 34 assists, 10 digs and three block assists.
