Auggie women net 4th draw in league play

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Allison Hookom (JR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) scored for Augsburg University in the 26th minute, but a second half "own goal" enabled Gustavus Adolphus College to claim a 1-1 tie, Augsburg's fourth draw in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer play this season.

THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 1, Gustavus Adolphus 1
LOCATION: Gustie Soccer Field, St. Peter, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 5-2-4 overall (1-0-4 MIAC), Gustavus 5-3-3 overall (1-3-1 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hookom scored her second goal of the season in the 26th minute. Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) worked the ball forward from midfield on a break, and sent a through ball to Hookom on the right wing. Marked aggressively by a Gustie defender, Hookom was able to poke her right foot on the ball, sending it to the low left corner of the goal.
• Gustavus tied the game in the 64th minute, as a drive from the right wing by Brianna Monahan bounced into the six-yard box, and it was redirected off an Augsburg defender's shoulder into the net for an "own goal."
• Augsburg held a 69-to-31-percent possession advantage in the game, and outshot Gustavus by a 12-10 margin.
• Defenders Avery Rich (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) and Samantha Meyer (SR, Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) joined defensive midfielder Hannah Hatfield (JR, Rogers, Ark./Rogers HS) in playing the full 90 minutes, along with Ponce. Ccenter midfieler Annika Rudolph (SR, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) played 86 minutes in the game.
• Goalkeeper Tess Enlow (JR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had two saves in the draw.
