MOORHEAD, Minn. –
Annika Mielke (FY, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) and
Molly Grundhoffer (SO, Cleveland, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) scored two goals each, as the Augsburg University women's hockey team opened Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a 6-0 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jenna Allen (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS) scored her first collegiate goal at the 10:31 mark of the first period, pouncing on a loose puck in the slot and sliding it in the net, assisted by
Kate Haug (JR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) and
Nora Stepan (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS).
• Grundhoffer, a transfer from Division I St. Thomas, scored a power-play goal on a backhand in the slot off assists by
Grace Bonnell (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) and
Ruby Eskin (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Roseville HS).
• Mielke scored her first collegiate goal on a shorthanded 2-on-1 break late in the second period, a one-timer off a sharp feed from the right wing by
Emma Abrahamson (SO, Carpentersville, Ill./Hampshire HS), with
Emily Schoeberl (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) getting the second assist.
• Grundhoffer scored her second goal of the game at the 7:29 mark of the third period, popping a backhanded shot from the bottom of the left faceoff circle over the shoulder of the Concordia goalie and into the net. Stepan and
Emily Cronkhite (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) were credited with assists.
• Mielke claimed her second goal at the 17:00 mark, flicking a wrist shot to the net on a rebound off a blocked pass attempt. Cronkhite finished the scoring on a steal in the slot with 1:04 left to play.
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 32-13 margin in the game.

Kayla Simonson (FY, Delano, Minn./Delano HS) claimed her second straight shutout win in goal, stopping all 13 shots she faced.

• Ashlea Arvidson had 26 saves in goal for Concordia.
