DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Augsburg University men's hockey team opened its 2024-25 season with a 3-0 victory over the University of Dubuque in a Key City Collegiate Classic opening-round game on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg jumped on the board early, scoring two goals in the opening period and adding another in the second period, with two goals coming on the power play.Â

Cade Stibbe (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) opened the scoring with a power-play goal from
Gunnar Williams (SO, Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central HS) and
Cole Schneider (SO, Lincolnshire, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson HS) at the 8:34 mark of the first period.

Dylan Schneider (SR, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead at the 15:32 mark of the opening frame, assisted by
Graham Harris (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS).
• Harris then notched his first collegiate goal at the 14:13 mark of the second period, a power-play marker fromÂ
Peyton Hanson (JR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS)Â and
Michael Ferrandino (SR, Lisle, Ill./Waterloo West (Iowa) HS).
• Augsburg outshot Dubuque by a 32-26 margin in the game.
Carsen Stokes (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS), a transfer from Division I Northern Michigan, claimed his first shutout victory for the Auggies with 26 saves.

• Ryan Piros had 29 saves in goal for Dubuque.
