DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Augsburg University men's hockey team opened its 2024-25 season with a 3-0 victory over the University of Dubuque in a Key City Collegiate Classic opening-round game on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg jumped on the board early, scoring two goals in the opening period and adding another in the second period, with two goals coming on the power play. 
• Cade Stibbe (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) opened the scoring with a power-play goal from Gunnar Williams (SO, Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central HS) and Cole Schneider (SO, Lincolnshire, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson HS) at the 8:34 mark of the first period.
• Dylan Schneider (SR, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead at the 15:32 mark of the opening frame, assisted by Graham Harris (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS).
• Harris then notched his first collegiate goal at the 14:13 mark of the second period, a power-play marker from Peyton Hanson (JR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) and Michael Ferrandino (SR, Lisle, Ill./Waterloo West (Iowa) HS).
• Augsburg outshot Dubuque by a 32-26 margin in the game. Carsen Stokes (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS), a transfer from Division I Northern Michigan, claimed his first shutout victory for the Auggies with 26 saves.

FOR THE FOES
• Ryan Piros had 29 saves in goal for Dubuque.
