Auggie men shut out by Saints

DULUTH, Minn. -- Giving up goals in the first and third periods, the Augsburg University men's hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision at the College of St. Scholastica in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot St. Scholastica by a 38-31 margin in the game, including a 17-7 advantage in the third period, but couldn't get any shots past St. Scholastica goalie Eino Rissanen, who had 38 saves in the shutout win.
Michael Ferrandino (SR, Lisle, Ill./Waterloo West (Iowa) HS) had six shots on-goal in the game, while Gunnar Williams (SO, Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central HS) ahd five shots, and Dylan Schneider (SR, Rochester, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had four shots.
Carsen Stokes (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had 29 saves in goal for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES
• Nick Lanigan and Hunter Hanson scored goals for St. Scholastica, with Wyatt Wurst assisting on both goals.
