Auggies dominate in win over Scots

MINNEAPOLIS -- Outgaining their opponents by a 453-to-95 margin, the Augsburg University football team scored a convincing 33-3 victory over Macalester College in a innesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies generated 453 yards of total offense (320 passing yards, 133 rushing yards), an average of 6.0 yards per-play on 75 plays. Meanwhile, the Auggie defense limited the Scots to just 95 yards of total offense, including minus-14 rushing yards, much of it accumulated on seven quarterback sacks for 48 lost yards. Augsburg also claimed a safety in the second quarter.
• Wide receiver Tyrone Wilson (JR, Ellendale, Minn./New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva HS) caught 11 passes for 149 yards and a 29-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter, while also rushing five times for 22 yards and a seven-yard score late in the game. 
• Quarterback Marcus Freeman (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) completed 26-of-40 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns against three interceptions. Michael Lau (JR, Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) caught six passes for 69 yards, and Ben Davis (SO, New Brighton, Minn./Fridley HS) caught four passes for 55 yards and an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Lamar Webb Jr. (JR, Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King HS) rushed 14 times for 82 yards. Nathan Wangensteen (JR, Chisholm, Minn./Chisholm HS) connected on a 39-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Ethan Tegels (SR, Cadott, Wis./Cadott HS) had two quarterback sacks among his five tackles (four solo). Tayvion Gardner (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had two sacks. Hamsa Kahin (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Edina HS) six solo tackles, with three tackles for-loss and a sack. Rio Starr (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had six tackles (three solo) and a half sack.
Marcus Kimbrough (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) had an interception, his third of the season.

FOR THE FOES
• Theo Crosb kicked a 25-yard field goal in the third quarter for Macalester.
• Noah Breeson had 16 takles (nine solo) and a sack to lead the Scots' defense.
