SUPERIOR, Wis. – With 11 different players figuring in the scoring, the Augsburg University women's hockey team completed a successful opening weekend of its season with a 6-0 nonconference triumph at the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies scored twice in each period, outshooting the host Yellowjackets by a 30-23 margin. Making her collegiate debut in goal,
Kayla Simonson (FY, Delano, Minn./Delano HS) stopped all 23 shots she faced to pick up the shutout victory.

Grace Bonnell (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) scored her second goal of the weekend at the 7:49 mark of the first period, a power-play marker from
Ruby Eskin (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Roseville HS) and
Tenley Stewart (JR, Esko, Minn./Esko HS).
Nora Stepan (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) followed with another power-play goal, assisted by
Elizabeth Fagerlind (SR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS), at the 15:22 mark of the opening frame.

Emily Schoeberl (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored from
Kate Haug (JR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) at the 5:55 mark of the second period, and
Emma Abrahamson (SO, Carpentersville, Ill./Hampshire HS) scored from
Livia Brehm (JR, Detroit Lakes, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Mei Diesing (FY, Arlington Heights, Ill./TPH Academy Chicago) at the 17:16 mark.

Emily Cronkhite (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored both of Augsburg's goals in the third period, unassisted at the 6:21 mark and assisted by Eskin at the 17:06 mark.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The game marked the first career coaching victory for new Augsburg head coach
Elizabeth Bauer.
FOR THE FOES
• Anna Maulson had 24 saves in goal for UW-Superior.
