Concordia pulls away for win over Auggie women

MINNEAPOLIS -- Amira LaDuke (JR, Cass Lake, Minn./Cass Lake-Bena HS) scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, leading the Augsburg University women's basketball team in its 81-72 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss to Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Cobbers jumped out to a 22-13 lead in the first quarter, but Augsburg outscored Concordia 26-19 in the second quarter to trail just 41-39 at halftime. An 11-2 run midway through the third quarter gave the Cobbers a 12-point lead, 59-47, a lead extended to as many as 14 points in the final period.
• LaDuke led the Auggies with 19 points, adding five rebounds.
• Wakinyela Bear (JR, Morrison, Colo./Meskwaki (Iowa) HS) scored 14 points with five assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Saylor Gallagher (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored 14 points with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots.
Lani Fonoti (FY, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) scored seven points off the bench, Maecee Alexander (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) scored six points, and Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) scored five points.
 
FOR THE FOES
• Concordia had four players score in double figures, led by Jordyn Kahler, who scored 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field.
• Carlee Sieben scored 16 points with three assists and four steals, Makayla Anderson scored 11 points with nine rebounds, and Alexa Snesrud scored 12 points.
