MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University men's basketball team played host to the Hamline University Pipers on Saturday afternoon, falling 73-53 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Pipers controlled the pace of play for most of the opening half, leading by as many as 19 and holding a 38-21 advantage at halftime. The Auggies managed to cut the deficit to 11 at 64-53 with 4:10 remaining in regulation, but that proved to be as low as it would go with Hamline hanging on for the double-digit win.
• Hamline was more efficient shooting the ball overall with a 31-of-61 (50.8%) performance compared to Augsburg's 19-of-58 (32.8%) shooting line, but the Auggies held a 25% (4-of-16) to 13.3% (2-of-15) edge from beyond the arc. Each team committed 10 turnovers in the game, but Hamline outscored Augsburg 13-10 in points resulting from the giveaways.

Will Blascziek (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) was the only Auggie in double figures with 10 points on 5-of-13 shooting to go along with three rebounds, a block, and a steal.
Isaac Rabaey (JR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) and
Colin Meade (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored six points each, and Rabaey led the team with six rebounds while Meade added two.

Caden Sullivan (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) led the effort off the bench with seven points and two rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
• Austin Holt led all players in the game with 23 points and eight rebounds for the Pipers.
