MOORHEAD, Minn.– Tommy Carls (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) and Vincent Weis (SR, Madison, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) scored goals in regulation time for Augsburg University, and Peyton Hanson (SO, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) scored in the shootout, as the Auggies took two of three points in a 2-2, overtime tie at Concordia College-Moorhead in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey play on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The teams exchanged goals in regulation time, and neither team could score in the five-minute, 3-on-3 overtime, formally ending the game in a 2-2 tie. In the three-round shootout to earn the third conference point, Hanson scored the only goal between the two teams, driving in from the right side and popping the puck over the goalie's blocker to the far corner. Meanwhile, Auggie goalie Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) claimed saves on two of the three Concordia shots, with the other shot going wide. 
• Augsburg struck first against the Cobbers, as Carls scored his second goal of the season, pouncing on a rebound off a shot in front by Luke Mountain (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) that hit the crossbar. Jake Hale (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Apex Virtual School) fed Mountain in the slot, leading to the goal.
• The Cobbers tied the game early in the second period, but Augsburg took the lead back at the 15:07 mark. At the end of a Cobber power play, Gunnar Williams (FY, Elgin, Ill./University of Nebraska HS) poked the puck away from a Concordia player on a pass attempt, pushing the puck forward to Kyler Yeo (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS). He passed the puck ahead to a streaking Weis, who had just exited the penalty box, who put the puck in the net for his second goal of the season.
• Augsburg was outshot by a 37-35 margin -- the sixth game in a row that Augsburg has been outshot. But Vyletelka came up big yet again, stopping 35 shots to puck up the win, in his 15th game with 30 or more saves this season.

FOR THE FOES
• Braden Costello scored early in the second period for Concordia, and Troy Dahlheimer tied the game at 2-2 with a goal early in the third period.
• Cobber goalie Matt Fitzgerald had 33 saves.
