CLERMONT, Fla. -- Outscoring its opponents 17-1 on the day, the Augsburg University softball team improved to 10-0 to start the season with a pair of victories on Sunday, beating Fredonia State University 7-1 and Mount St. Mary College 10-0 (five innings) at THE Spring Games.

FREDONIA GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored three runs in the second inning and four runs in the sixth inning to pull away from Fredonia in the first game, stroking 11 hits.
• A run-scoring double by
Libby Moore (SR, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS), a bases-loaded walk and an RBI single by
Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) gave the Auggies their three runs on four hits in the second frame.
• Three straight singles set up a four-run sixth inning.
Jaime Olson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) scored on error on a double-steal attempt,
Torrie Rehder (JR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) plated
Jayden Evenson (SO, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) on a sacrifice fly, and
Lola Pilon (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) hit a two-run single to bring in Manecke and
Olivia Funk (JR, Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura HS).
• Manecke went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Pilon and Moore both went 2-for-4.
• Moore picked up her second pitching win of the season with a complete-game effort, striking out three against two walks and five hits.
MOUNT ST. MARY GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg sent 14 batters to the plate in the fourth inning, scoring 10 runs on just four hits, enabling the Auggies to end the game in the fifth inning due to the NCAA eight-run rule. The Auggies took advantage of a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and three bases-loaded walks in the frame.
• Also in the fourth inning,
Zoie Johnson (JR, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) and Olson hit RBI singles, Manecke drove in a run on a fielder's choice, Funk hit a two-run double and Pilon plated a run on a groundout.

Olivia O'Connor (SR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) picked up the pitching win to improve to 4-0, striking out four against one walk and three hits.
FOR THE FOES
• Alyssa Santiago went 2-for-3 at the plate for Fredonia.
• Laura Dentato hit a double for Mount St. Mary.
