MINNEAPOLIS -- Pounding out 19 hits in the doubleheader, the Augsburg University softball team remained unbeaten with a nonconference sweep of Martin Luther on Saturday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field, winning 11-3 in five innings and 8-2.

Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Torrie Rehder (JR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) plated runs in the fourth inning, along with a wild pitch and a failed pickoff attempt to third base.
• Manecke hit a two-run single in the fifth inning, followed by an RBI fielder's choice by
Olivia Funk (JR, Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura HS) and a two-run single by
Lola Pilon (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS), which ended the game.
• Back-to-back doubles to lead off the bottom of the first inning by Manecke and Rehder plated the Auggies' first run of the game.

Olivia O'Connor (SR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) struck out four against no walks and nine hits to pick up the pitching victory.
• Manecke went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI in the first game, while Rehder, Pilon and Jamie Olson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had two hits each. Rehder and
Jayden Evenson (SO, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) scored two runs each.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• A six-run second inning burst open the game for Augsburg, as the Auggies sent 11 batters to the plate. The big hit in the frame was a three-run double by
Olivia Hennager (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS), along with RBI singles by Rehder and
Teron Ormond-Miller (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS).
• A bases-loaded walk scored a run for the Auggies in the first inning, and
Morgann Paaske (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) plated a run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
• Hennager went 2-for-3 with a run scored and four RBI, and Funk and
Zoie Johnson (JR, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS) scored two runs each.
• Paaske improved to 3-0 in the pitching circle, striking out six against five walks and six hits in a complete-game effort.
FOR THE FOES
• Jordyn Heckendorf had two hits and two stolen bases in the first game for Martin Luther, while Jessica Horn also had two hits.
• Lisa Hoffer had two hits, including a double, in the second game.
