MINNEAPOLIS –
Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored a career-high eight goals, the second-most goals in a single game in Augsburg University women's lacrosse history, sparking the Auggies in a 14-13, come-from-behind nonconference victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game was a back-and-forth battle, with neither team leading by more than two goals until the Pointers took an 11-8 lead with 14:06 left to play. But Hoffman scored three of the Auggies' final five goals of the game, and a goal by
Jessica Paul (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) with 3:19 left gave the Auggies the final margin of victory.
• Hoffman scored five of the Auggies' first six goals of the game, ending up with eight goals in the contest. Her eight goals are the second-most in a single game in the 11-season history of Augsburg women's lacrosse, behind a nine-goal effort by
Jade Wilson (SO, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) against Wartburg (Iowa) on April 12, 2023. Hoffman's eight total points are tied for the fourth-most in a single game in school history.
• Hoffman had a strong all-around game, capturing seven draw controls, to go along with two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
• Meanwhile, Wilson set an Augsburg single-game school record with 16 draw controls, breaking the old mark of 15, set twice by
Christina Nelson '19 in the 2019 season. Augsburg's leading scorer on the season with 30 goals, she scored three goals in the game, adding four assists -- the second-most in a single game in school history. She also had six ground balls and four caused turnovers.
• The Auggies outshot the Pointers by a 33-28 margin, and had 25 draw controls to the Pointers' six. UW-Stevens Point had 28 ground balls to the Auggies' 23.
• Along with her eventual game-winning goal, Paul added a caused turnover and a ground ball for the Auggies.

Leila Klym (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) scored a goal with three round balls and a caused turnover, and
Abaigeal Luallen (SO, Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola HS) scored a goal with two draw controls.

Kayla Courtney (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS) and
Emma Meythaler (JR, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) had three ground balls and two caused turnovers each, while
Mackenzie Galazen (JR, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) added two ground balls and a caused turnover.

FOR THE FOES
• Marissa Van Dyke scored six goals with an assist for a seven-point day for UW-Stevens Point, while Courtney Leising scored four goals with seven caused turnovers, seven ground balls and two draw controls.
• Emily Griege had 10 saves and four ground balls in goal for the Pointers.
