Auggies drop 14-10 decision to Beloit

MINNEAPOLIS – Goalie Nicole Schuster (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) collected a season-high 16 saves in goal for Augsburg University, in its 14-10 nonconference women's lacrosse loss to Beloit College on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Beloit held a 7-2 lead at halftime, after outshooting the Auggies by a 29-7 margin in the first half. The Auggies cut the Buccaneers' lead to 9-8 in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, but Beloit scored five of the final seven goals of the contest to claim the win. Beloit outshot Augsburg by a 45-18 margin in the game, collected 23 ground balls to the Auggies' 14, and had 16 draw controls to Augsburg's 12.
Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) claimed her fourth multi-goal game of the season, scoring three goals with an assist for four points, while adding four draw controls. She now has 21 goals and two assists for 23 points, standing seventh among Midwest Lacrosse Conference players in goals and 10th in points.
• Jade Wilson (SO, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored two goals with two assists, adding six ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers. Wilson now has 32 goals and 12 assists for 44 points, sitting fourth in the MLC in goals and fifth in points.
• Schuster had a season-high 16 saves in goal, her fourth double-digit save game of the season and 13th in her college career. She also had a ground ball in the game.
Jessica Paul (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) scored two goals with a ground ball.
Eleanor Flynn (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) scored a goal with an assist, adding a ground ball.
Mackenzie Galazen (JR, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) scored a goal with a season-high five draw controls.
Marissa Paaske (SO, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) collected two ground balls and had two caused turnovers.

FOR THE FOES
• Johanna McNair scored six goals with four ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers to lead Beloit, while Maya DeGeorge had five goals, three draw controls and two ground balls.
• Suzanne Healy had six draw controls and four ground balls for the Buccaneers.
