Augsburg opens MLC play with loss at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Outshot by a 38-10 margin, the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team opened Midwest Lacrosse Conference play with a 21-3 loss at Lake Forest College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lake Forest scored the first 19 goals of the game before Augsburg scored with 12:33 left to play in the fourth quarter. The Foresters claimed 19 draw controls to Augsburg's seven and had 21 ground balls to Augsburg's 13. 
Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored two goals in the fourth quarter, adding three draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover.
• Jade Wilson (SO, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored a goal with an assist, adding three caused turnovers, three draw controls and six ground balls.
Kayla Courtney (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS) and Mackenzie Galazen (JR, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) and two ground balls each, and Leila Klym (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had a draw control and a caused turnover.
• Nicole Schuster (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had nine saves and two ground balls in goal.

FOR THE FOES
• Ryleigh Nelson scored five goals with five assists to lead Lake Forest. Jenna Doctor had four goals and two ground balls.
• Ali Graham scored two goals with three assists, adding six ground balls, seven draw controls and three caused turnovers.
