MSOE stops Augsburg 11-5

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team suffered an 11-5 nonconference loss to the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• MSOE scored the final four goals of the first quarter and the final four goals of the second quarter to take an 8-3 lead into the halftime break. MSOE outshot Augsburg by a 36-12 margin in the game and had 49 ground balls to Augsburg's 39. The Raiders had 10 draw controls to Augsburg's nine.
• Jade Wilson (SO, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored two goals to lead the Auggies, with three draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover.
Mackenzie Galazen (JR, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) scored a goal and added two draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover.
Eleanor Flynn (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) scored a goal with two ground balls, and  Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored a goal with a ground ball.
Kayla Courtney (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS) had six ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Emma Meythaler (JR, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) had four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Marissa Paaske (SO, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Abaigeal Luallen (SO, Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola HS) and Jessica Paul (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) had two ground balls each.
• Nicole Schuster (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had 12 saves and 11 ground balls in goal.

FOR THE FOES
• Lily Johnson and Vayda Flower scored three goals each for the Raiders.
• Megan Lacina had three saves in goal for MSOE.
