MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University women's basketball players
Wakinyela Bear (SO, Morrison, Colo./Meskwaki HS) and
Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) were each named to the Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), it was announced this week.

An exercise science major with a 3.68 GPA, Bear started all 23 games for the Auggies this season. She averaged 8.0 points per-game, the third-best mark on the team. Bear also ranked third on the team in both rebounds and assists, totaling 83 rebounds (3.6 per-game) and 39 assists.

A mathematics and data science major with a 3.98 GPA, Manecke appeared in 22 games for the Auggies, starting all 22. She scored 6.8 points per-game, ranking fourth on the team. Manecke tied for the team lead with 53 assists, ranked fourth on the team with 22 steals, and ranked sixth with 59 rebounds. Manecke was previously named Academic All-District in the 2022-23 season.
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the
CSC Academic All-America program. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
