Auggie lacrosse falls to Falcons

MINNEAPOLIS – Outshot by a 47-7 margin in the game, the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team fell 24-3 to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in a nonconference contest on Friday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The visiting Falcons scored the first 14 goals of the game before Jade Wilson (SO, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored the first of her two goals in the game for the Auggies, with 3:43 remaining in the first half. Wilson scored a goal in the third quarter, and Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored a goal in the fourth quarter.
• UW-River Falls controlled possession throughout the game, claiming 17 draw controls to Augsburg's 13 and collecting 31 ground balls to the Auggies' seven. Augsburg committed 29 turnovers in the game, compared to 13 for the Falcons.
• Wilson scored two goals with an assist, adding seven draw controls and a ground ball. Hoffman had five draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover, in addition to her goal.
Jessica Paul (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) had two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
Nicole Schuster (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) recorded 11 saves in goal for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES
• Brooke Glumack scored seven goals with three assists and two ground balls to lead UW-River Falls.
• Samantha Hayek scored six goals with three assists, adding two draw controls and three ground balls.
