Auggies fall to Bennies

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team dropped a 23-3 decision to the College of Saint Benedict in a Midwest Lacrosse Conference game on Friday at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Benedict outshot Augsburg by a 49-6 margin, including a 35-2 advantage in the first half, as the Bennies built a 16-1 halftime lead. Saint Benedict had 20 draw controls to Augsburg's eight, and 27 ground balls to Augsburg's 12. The Bennies forced 26 Augsburg turnovers while committing 16.
Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored two goals to lead the Auggies, adding two ground balls and a draw control.
• Abaigeal Luallen (SO, Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola HS) scored a goal for the Auggies, while Beatriz Sandoval Gomez (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) had an assist.
Leila Klym (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) contributed five draw controls and a caused turnover, and Emma Meythaler (JR, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) had four ground balls and a caused turnover.

FOR THE FOES
