Auggies fall 14-5 to Pipers

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Outshot by a 41-14 margin in the game, the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-5 Midwest Lacrosse Conference contest at Hamline University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hamline outshot Augsburg by a 23-8 margin in the first half, building a 9-3 halftime lead. The Pipers had 21 ground balls to the Auggies' 16, and had 18 draw controls to the Auggies' five.
• Leila Klym (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) scored two goals to lead the Auggies, adding two ground balls.
• Jade Wilson (SO, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored a goal with a ground ball and draw control.
• Alexa Hoffman (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored a goal with two draw controls, and Abaigeal Luallen (SO, Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola HS) scored a goal with an assist.
• Mackenzie Galazen (JR, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) had six ground balls, three caused turnovers and a draw control. 
• Nicole Schuster (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had 18 saves in goal for the Auggies, adding two ground balls.

FOR THE FOES
• Avery Wilson scored four goals with two assists and three ground balls for Hamline.
• Courtney Parker scord four goals with four ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.

• Augsburg closes its 2024 campaign with an MLC game against Cornell (Iowa) next Saturday (4/27) at 1 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
