MINNEAPOLIS – Two members of the Augsburg University baseball team earned Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason honors, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Outfielder
Stanley Regguinti (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) was named to the All-MIAC squad while shortstop
Andruw Vela (FY, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) earned an honorable mention nod.
Regguinti made an immediate impact in his first season at Augsburg, leading the team and ranking fourth in the MIAC with a .416 batting average, logging 47 hits in 113 at bats with eight doubles, three triples, a home run, and 11 runs batted in. Slugging .566 and recording a MIAC-leading .522 on-base percentage, Regguinti's OPS of 1.088 was good for eighth in the conference. Regguinti also led the team and ranked 11
th in the conference with 11 stolen bases on 14 attempts.
Vela was also a key contributor for the Auggies in his first-year campaign, leading the team with three home runs. His .320 batting average was third-best on the team, recording 33 hits in 103 at bats with three doubles, two triples, three home runs, and 22 RBI, tied for second-most on the team. With a .476 slugging percentage and a .415 on-base percentage, Vela's OPS of .891 ranked second on the team.
The Auggies finished the season with an overall record of 10-24, going 6-14 in MIAC play.
