Megan Hensel (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) scored the lone goal of the game in the 66th minute, lifting her Augsburg University women's soccer team to a 1-0, season-opening victory at Crown College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hensel, a fifth-year senior, scored on an impressive play created by two players playing their first collegiate games. Defender
Avery Rich (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) gained the ball near midfield, and lofted a pass past a Crown midfielder to
Holland Kneefe (FY, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS). Kneefe sprinted up the left wing and slotted a perfect pass to a wide-open Hensel in the center of the 18-yard box, and Hensel slammed the ball home for her eighth career goal.
• Augsburg held firm control throughout the game, outshooting Crown by a 21-3 margin, including a 10-1 advantage in shots on-goal. The Auggies held a 58-to-42 percent possession advantage in the game, with 56 percent of their possession time spent in the attacking half of the field.
• Hensel and
Phoebe Alva Rosa (JR, Jackson, Wyo./Jackson Hole HS) had four shots each, with each contributing three shots on-goal.
