CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) and
Denise Hamdan (SO, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) scored two goals each, as the Augsburg University women's soccer team dominated in a 7-0 nonconference win at Coe College on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot Coe by a 30-2 margin in the game -- a 16-1 advantage in the first half and 14-1 advantage in the second half. Of the 30 shots, 21 were on-target for the Auggies. Augsburg also had seven corner kicks to none for Coe.
• Ponce claimed her second multi-goal game of the season and sixth of her career, scoring Augsburg's first two goals of the game in the opening 11 minutes. She scored on a left-footed shot that deflected off the right goalpost from
Alanna Franklin (SR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) in the sixth minute, then pounced on a loose ball in the 18-yard box and slammed the ball in the net for his sixth goal of the season in the 11th minute.
• In the 25th minute,
Allison Hookom (JR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) gained the ball on a long downfield pass and eluded a charging goalkeeper, putting the ball in the empty net for her first goal of the year. Hamdan followed with her first goal of the game, gaining a through ball and scoring her second goal of the season, in the 44th minute.

Megan Hensel (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) scored her third goal of the season in the 70th minute, completing a give-and-go from
Amalia Lee (FY, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS). A minute later, Hamdan scored her second goal of the game, scoring on a one-timer in front off a feed from the left wing by
Holland Kneefe (FY, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS).

Grace Dickerson (JR, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) capped the scoring for the Auggies in the 82nd minute, scoring from the top of the 18-yard box following a corner kick.
• Making her second collegiate start in goal,
Claire Smothers (FY, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) had one save to score the shutout win.
FOR THE FOES
• Lilly Monroe had five saves in the first half, and Ashton Proctor had three saves in the second half for Coe.
