HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was in control of the action throughout the game, holding a 60-to-40-percent possession advantage and outshooting the Pipers by a 23-7 margin, including a 12-4 advantage in shots on-goal. The Auggies also had seven corner kicks to the Pipers' one.
• The Auggies opened the game with a pretty goal in the 15th minute.
Joseph Swallen (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) popped the ball forward to
Mitchel Munzing (JR, Portland, Ore./Grant HS), who flicked the ball over his shoulder to
Ceazar Daniell (JR, Portland, Ore./Cleveland HS), who scored on a spinning shot across the goal, his first goal of the season.
• Munzing extended his goal-scoring streak to four straight games in the 25th minute, popping a shot over the Hamline goalkeeper in the 18-yard box off a feed from the right wing by
Remus Repcak (SO, Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin HS).
Tomas Menna (SR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) had the second assist on the goal. Munzing now has six goals and three assists in his last four games.
• The Auggies took a 3-0 lead in the 42nd minute, as
Jakob Mohrlok (SR, Stuttgart, Germany/Schonbuch Gymnasium HS) headed home a
Diego Veit (JR, Vina Del Mar, Chile/Centro Educacional de Adultos Rafael Sotomayor) corner kick to the upper right corner of the goal, crossing the line before a Hamline defender attempted to head it away.
• Augsburg scored twice in the final nine minutes to cement the victory. Repcak scored his first goal of the season in the 82nd minute, driving from the right wing to the top of the 18-yard box, slamming a left-footed shot to the top right corner of the net. Four minutes later, Veit scored his first goal as an Auggie, scoring on a drive from the top-left corner of the 18-yard box on a rebound off a blocked shot by Munzing.
• Eleven different Auggies had shots in the game, with Munzing and Veit collecting four shots each.
•

QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG HEAD COACH GREG HOLKER
• "We had complete control of the game heading into halftime. Mitchell Munzing just keeps on ticking with a goal and two assists tonight. The action to set up Ceazar's goal was so fun to watch, and then his gentle touch to put away the second goal just highlights his class."
• "We had three of our four backs score tonight, so that was a lot of fun for them. Remus smashed his goal cutting in onto his left, but then a few minutes later Diego raised it to another level on his birthday with an even better goal cutting in on his right."
• "We are disappointed we conceded goals tonight. Whether there was a legit penalty or not, we shouldn't have been in the position we were, so that is on us. On their second goal, we didn't get the recovery runs we needed from a few players, but they will see it and learn from it. That's what I love about this group -- they want to get better, and they will make adjustments to choices or actions that didn't work out."
