Shooting woes plague Auggies at CSS

DULUTH, Minn. -- Lani Fonoti (FY, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) scored a season-high 18 points, hitting four 3-pointers, in her Augsburg University women's basketball team's 67-48 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss at the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was limited to just 27.6 percent (16-of-58) from the field, including 33.3 percent (5-of-15) from three-point range. St. Scholastica outrebounded Augsburg by a 49-35 margin. The Saints jumped out to a 13-2 lead and never trailed in the game, eventually leading by as many as 22 points.
• Fonoti connected on 4-of-8 from three-point range as part of her 18-point effort for the Auggies, adding three rebounds and two assists.
• Amira LaDuke (JR, Cass Lake, Minn./Cass Lake-Bena HS) scored in double figures for the 10th time this season, contributing 13 points with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. 
Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) scored seven points with two rebounds for the Auggies. Melanie Delestrez (JR, Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens HS) scored four points with four rebounds, and Saylor Gallagher (SO, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored three points with four rebounds.

FOR THE FOES
• Ava Haus scored 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field, including 7-of-10 from three-point range, to lead St. Scholastica.
• Kloey Lind had a double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.
