MINNEAPOLIS -- For the second straight night, the Augsburg University men's hockey team rallied from a multi-goal deficit in the third period, gaining a 3-3 overtime tie with Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday evening. The Royals outscored the Auggies 2-1 in the shootout to gain the bonus point in the conference standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jack Cotter (FY, Canton, Mich./Salem HS) scored his first collegiate goal at the 5:30 mark of the first period, tipping home a shot by
Parker Jasper (FY, Regina, Saskatchewan/Martin Collegiate HS) following a faceoff win by
Cade Stibbe (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS).
• Bethel scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead after two periods, but
Landon Parker (SO, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) scored a pair of goals in the third period to tie the game, both on assists from
Nick Catalano (JR, Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead Union HS). Catalano gained a loose puck in the attacking zone and slid a pass to Parker for a goal from the high slot at the 6:37 mark, and at the 12:15 mark, he scored from the high slot again, off a faceoff win by Catalano.
• The teams played a scoreless 3-on-3 overtime, officially ending the game in a tie. But Bethel was able to score on its final two attempts of the three-round shootout to earn the extra conference point, with Augsburg only scoring on a goal by Catalano.
• Bethel outshot Augsburg by a 26-25 margin.
Carsen Stokes (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had 23 saves for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Jeremiah Konkel, Shane Lavelle and Joe Westlund scored goals for Bethel, with Tyler Braccini and Jack Brown scoring in the shootout.
• Austin Ryman had 22 saves in goal for the Royals.
