NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Behind the first double-double in an Augsburg University uniform by
Andy Stafford (SR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS), the Augsburg University men's basketball team scored a 74-70 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Carleton College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stafford claimed his fifth 20-point game in his eighth game played this season, scoring 27 points with10 rebounds, adding three assists and a blocked shot. He went 10-of-15 from the field, including a 4-for-6 effort from three-point range.
• Augsburg led by as many as 14 points in the first half, before a 14-3 run gave the Knights a 45-44 lead with 13:35 remaining. Augsburg took a 66-62 lead on an old-fashioned three-point play by
Elias Batala (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) with 2:08 left, but the Knights rallied to tie the game at 68-68 with 38 seconds left.Â
Julien Hussherr (JR, Strasbourg, Alsace, France/Episcopal Saint Etienne HS) connected on a three-pointer with 12 seconds left to give the Auggies a 71-68 advantage, giving the Auggies a lead they would not relinquish.

• Augsburg hit 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the field, hitting 57.1 percent (16-of-28) in the first half. Carleton connected on 53.6 percent (30-of-56) from the field in the game. The Knights outrebounded the Auggies by a 33-28 margin.

• Carleton was paced by Luke Harris, who scored 18 points with six rebounds and four assists.
• Matt Drake scored 15 points with six rebounds and four assists, and Sam Koelling had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
