MINNEAPOLIS -- The Bethel University football team scored on its first three drives of the game in the opening 10 minutes of play, never surrendering the lead in a 56-7 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over host Augsburg University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bethel, ranked No. 7 in the latest D3football.com and No. 8 in the American Football Coaches Association Division III national polls, scored touchdowns on eight of its 13 drives in the game, outgaining Augsburg by a 407-to-207 margin.
• Augsburg's lone touchdown came early in the fourth quarter, as quarterback
Caden Rodkewich (JR, New Brighton, Minn./St. Anthony Village HS) threw an eight-yard scoring pass to
Tyrone Wilson (SR, Ellendale, Minn./New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva HS), capping a six-play, 74-yard, 2:50 drive.
• Rodkewich completed 18-of-29 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown against one interception. Wilson caught seven passes for 117 yards for the Auggies.
• Defensively,
RJ Chakolis (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Hopkins HS) and
Foster Mulvehill (JR, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) had 14 tackles each, with Chakolis recording seven solo tackles and a quarterback sack, and Mulvehill recording five solo tackles and sharing a sack with
Conner Elliott (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS).
• Anselmo Marquez Reagan Jr. (JR, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) and
Griffin Thom (JR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) had eight tackles each.

Nathan Wangensteen (SR, Chisholm, Minn./Chisholm HS) had seven punts with a 36.9-yard average.
FOR THE FOES
• Cooper Drews completed 15-of-26 passes for 136 yards and four touchdowns for Bethel, with Aiden Eckert and Albert Rundell catching two touchdown passes each. Rundell caught three passes for 68 yards, and Eckert caught five passes for 37 yards.
• Four different Royals scored rushing touchdowns. Taye Manns rushed 21 times for 92 yards, and Riley Gritz rushed 15 times for 77 yards.
• Thomas Rush led the Royal defense with 10 tackles (four solo), and Marcus Whiting had 1.5 sacks.
