DULUTH, Minn. -- For the second time in her last three games and fifth time this season,
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) had a multi-goal game, scoring both goals for Augsburg University in a 2-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win at the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ponce moved into the MIAC's goal-scoring lead and points lead (32 points) with her 12th career multi-goal game, scoring in the 38th and 75th minutes. She scored her first goal of the game on an indirect free kick in the six-yard box, after the St. Scholastica goalkeeper was called for handling a back pass from a teammate.
• Ponce's second goal came on an upfield break, as she gained the ball off a defender on a break and blasted a shot from the center of the 18-yard box.
• Augsburg held a 20-6 advantage on shots in the game, including a 13-3 advantage in the first half. Ponce had nine shots, while
Lennon Folstad (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Central HS) had six shots.
• Augsburg's defense held the Saints in check, as
Danielle Wagner (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS),
Avery Rich (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS),
Grace Dickerson (SR, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS) and
Phoebe Alva Rosa (SR, Jackson, Wyo./Jackson Hole HS) all played the full 90 minutes, limiting St. Scholastica to just four shots on-target.

Claire Smothers (SO, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) stopped all four of the Saints' shots on-goal to claim her fifth shutout of the season and Augsburg's eighth as a team.
