MINNEAPOLIS -- Outshooting its foes by a 35-23 margin, the No. 2-ranked Augsburg University women's hockey team completed an opening-weekend nonconference sweep No. 9-ranked Adrian College with a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon at Ed Saugestad Rink.

• Augsburg scored the first two goals of the game, but the visiting Bulldogs tied the contest with a pair of power-play goals.Â

Ella Olson (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) opened the scoring for the Auggies with a goal 5:13 into the game, assisted by Mielke and Stepan.

Jenna Allen (SO, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead on a goal 4:27 into the second period, as she got a steal in the Bulldogs' zone and converted it for an unassisted goal, her second goal of the weekend.
• Augsburg outshot Adrian by a 75-44 margin on the weekend, including Saturday's 35-23 advantage. Augsburg entered the wekeend ranked No. 2 in the preseason NCAA Division III national polls by both USCHO.com and D-III Hockey News, while Adrian was ranked No. 9 in both national preseason polls.Â
