MANKATO, Minn. -- Pulling away throughout the contest, the Bethany Lutheran College women's basketball team claimed a 72-52 nonconference victory over Augsburg University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg led just once in the game, on the opening three-pointer 35 seconds into play. The Vikings led by four points after one quarter, then used a 13-2 run to take their first double-digit advantage. The lead didn't dip below seven points the rest of the way, and the Vikings led by as many as 21 points down the stretch.

Wakinyela Bear (SR, Morrison, Colo./Meskwaki (Iowa) HS) led the way for Augsburg, with a 17-point performance.

Tyliah Frazier (FY, Fridley, Minn./Fridley HS) scored seven points,
Sydney Hazuga (JR, Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial HS) and
Jada Stanford (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored six points each, and
Lani Fonoti (SO, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) scored five points.
• Augsburg was outrebounded by a 40-26 margin, and shot 28.4 percent (19-of-67) from the field, compared to 42.0 percent (21-of-50) for Bethany Lutheran.

• Juliana Ewald scored 19 points to lead Bethany Lutheran.
• Arinn McGee scored 15 points with six rebounds.
