MINNEAPOLIS – Behind a season-high 17-kill performance by
Taliah Triggs (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS), the Augsburg University volleyball team claimed a four-set nonconference victory over the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season champion University of Northwestern-St. Paul on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg had one of its top team performances of the season against the Eagles, breaking its own three-match losing streak and snapping Northwestern's nine-match winning streak. The Auggies hit .241 -- its eighth match hitting .200 or better this season -- while the Eagles hit .146. Augsburg had 51 kills and just 18 errors in 137 swings. The Auggies were also efficient in the back row, tying a season-high with 13 service aces and passing at a .951 pace, with just four receiving errors in 77 service receptions.
• Triggs had 17 kills on .371 hitting -- her sixth match of the season hitting .300 or better. She added six digs and two blocks (one solo).

Marley Mitchell (SO, Nevis, Minn./Nevis HS) had nine kills, four digs and a service ace.

Elizabeth Oster (JR, Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) had eight kills, four service aces, three digs and two block assists.

Taylor Hoehns (SR, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford HS) claimed seven kills and a block assist.

Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) recorded her 14th assist-dig double-double of the year and 20th of her Auggie career, claiming 38 assists, 12 digs, four kills, two aces and a block assist.

Maggie Lile (JR, Spring Grove, Minn./Spring Grove HS) had seven digs and four service aces.
FOR THE FOES
• Ana Egge led Northwestern with 11 kills, while Anja Jarchow had 10 kills.
• Addeson Jenniges had 34 assists and six digs, and Hannah Rich had 10 digs.

• Augsburg finishes the regular season with a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match against Saint Mary's University on Saturday (11/8) at 6 p.m. at Si Melby Hall. The Auggies will clinch a berth in the six-team MIAC postseason playoffs with a win over the Cardinals, combined with a St. Scholastica loss to St. Olaf on Saturday.
