Auggies pull away for win over Cobbers

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Four different players scored goals for Augsburg University, with Landon Parker (JR, East Grand Forks, N.D./East Grand Forks HS) and Conner Schneider (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) figuring in three of the goals, as the Auggies claimed a 4-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Parker scored a goal with two assists, and Schneider claimed assists on the final three goals of the game for the Auggies.
Noah Grolnic (FY, Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS) scored his first collegiate goal midway through the first period, scoring in the slot off a pass from the side of the net by Gunnar Williams (JR, Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central HS). Parker had the second assist on the goal.
• The Cobbers tied the game midway through the second period, but Augsburg took the lead back on Parker's second goal of the season, a power-play goal with two minutes left in the frame. He connected on a one-timer from the right faceoff dot following a pass across the ice by Schneider. Zachary Reim (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) had the second assist.
Ryan Comishock (FY, Enosburg Falls, Vt./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) scored his third goal of the season just 19 seconds into the third period, poking in a rebound in the slot off a shot from the left point by James Miller (SR, Excelsior, Minn./Minnetonka HS), fed by Schneider.
• Peyton Hanson (SR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) capped the Auggie scoring with a power-play goal 5:54 into the third, scoring on a pass through the slot by Schneider, with Parker getting the second assist.
Alex Timmons (JR, Lake Elmo, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) scored his first win in goal in an Augsburg uniform, as the transfer from Framingham State (Mass.) had 27 saves. Augsburg was outshot by a 28-21 margin by the Cobbers.

FOR THE FOES
• Zak Kennett scored from Talan Plante at the 12:11 mark of the second period for Concordia.
• Cobber goalie Dane Couture had 17 saves.
