THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 3, Wisconsin-Eau Claire 0
LOCATION: Ed Saugestad Rink, Minneapolis
RECORDS: Augsburg 7-2-1 overall, UW-Eau Claire 10-3-0 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Payton Behr (FY, Luverne, Minn./Luverne HS) opened the scoring with her third goal of the season, a power-play marker with 1:02 left in the opening period, as she deflected home a shot from the point by Nora Stepan (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS). Ruby Eskin (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Roseville HS) had the second assist on the goal.
• A transfer from Elmira College (N.Y.), Matson scored her first goal as an Auggie and eighth career goal, flipping a shot to the net on a pass across the slot by Aunna Schulte (SO, Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East HS), on a rush up the ice started by Emma Abrahamson (JR, Carpentersville, Ill./Hampshire HS).
• Jenna Allen (SO, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS) capped the scoring for the Auggies with an empty-net goal with 7.5 seconds left to play, her fourth goal of the season.
• Paaske stopped all 28 shots she faced in goal, as the Blugolds outshot the Auggies by a 28-21 margin. Paaske picked up her second shutout of the season and eighth of her collegiate career, tying Augsburg's career record for shutouts, set previously by Katie Fedoryk (2000-04), Erika Allen (2014-16) and Chloe Stockinger (2020-24).
