Marissa PaaskeMINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University goalie Marissa Paaske (SR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week on Defense, it was announced on Monday.

Paaske tied Augsburg's record for career goalie shutouts, stopping all 28 shots she faced in Friday's 3-0 win for No. 3/3-ranked Augsburg against No. 11/11 Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The shutout win was her second of the season and eighth of her collegiate career, tying Augsburg's career record for shutouts, set previously by Katie Fedoryk (2000-04), Erika Allen (2014-16) and Chloe Stockinger (2020-24).

Splitting time in goal with teammate Kayla Simonson (SO, Delano, Minn./Delano HS) this season, Paaske has a 4-1-0 record with a .967 save percentage and 0.81 goals against-average, leading the MIAC in both categories.

Now 8-2-1 on the season, Augsburg returns to action after the holiday break on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m., hosting Lawrence University (Wis.) at Ed Saugestad Rink
