Auggie women drop MIAC-opener at St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. -- Shooting just 27.3 percent from the field in the game, the Augsburg University women's basketball team dropped its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season-opener, falling 68-48 at the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg hit 15-of-55 from the field in the game, including 2-of-16 from three-point range. The Auggies hit just 7-of-26 (26.9 percent) from the field in the first half, falling behind 35-17 at halftime. The Saints led by as many as 23 points down the stretch.
Amira LaDuke (SR, Cass Lake, Minn./Cass Lake-Bena HS) scored nine points with seven rebounds and three assists to lead Augsburg.
• Melanie Delestrez (SR, Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens HS) scored eight points with eight rebounds.
