ST. PETER, Minn. -- The No. 2-ranked Augsburg University women's hockey team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 2-1 at No. 10-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in the opener of a key Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies were outshot by a 31-20 margin in the contest, as the Gusties scored goals early in both the first and second periods to take the lead.

Nora Stepan (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) scored for the Auggies with three seconds left in the game, an extra-attacker goal assisted by
Emily Schoeberl (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS).

Marissa Paaske (SR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) had 29 saves in the game for the Auggies.
• Stepan had five shots on-goal in the game, with
Kate Haug (SR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS),
Ella Olson (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and
Adelyn Milota (SO, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS) claiming three shots each. Olson also blocked two shots in the game.
