Augsburg women stopped by Hamline

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team dropped a 68-39 decision to visiting Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hamline used a 7-0 run to take a 15-8 advantage early in the second quarter and never trailed after that, with its 29-point final advantage ending up as its biggest lead. The Pipers connected on 40.3 percent (25-of-62) shooting from the field, compared to 29.8 percent (14-of-47) for the Auggies. Hamline outrebounded Augsburg by a 43-31 margin.
• Augsburg was led by Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS), who scored 10 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Amira LaDuke (JR, Cass Lake, Minn./Cass Lake-Bena HS) scored six points with five assists and three blocked shots.
• Maecee Alexander (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) scored four points with seven rebounds, and Evelyn Perkins (FY, Oakdale, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) and Melanie Delestrez (JR, Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens HS) scored four points each.

• Yasmeen Abed scored 21 points with steals to lead Hamline.
• Camille Cummings scored eight points with seven rebounds and three assists.
