MINNEAPOLIS – Extending its winning streak to 10 straight games, the Augsburg University women's hockey team cruised to an 8-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over St. Catherine University on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot St. Catherine by a 45-16 margin in claiming its 10th straight victory, scoring its most goals against an MIAC opponent since an 8-2 win at Bethel on Jan. 14, 2023. The Auggies scored three goals in the opening 4:35 of play and led 4-1 after one period, then scored twice in both the second and third periods.
• Thirteen different Auggies figured in the scoring on Friday, led by
Livia Brehm (JR, Detroit Lakes, Minn./Stillwater HS), who claimed her first career multi-goal game with a two-goal effort, scoring a power-play goal midway through the first period and an even-strength goal in the third.

Emily Cronkhite (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and
Molly Grundhoffer (SO, Cleveland, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) each scored a goal and added an assist for two-point nights.

Nora Stepan (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS), who entered the weekend tied for the NCAA Division III national lead in goals scored by defenders, extended her goal-scoring streak to five straight games, scoring her 12th goal of the season in the first period.

Addy Milota (FY, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS) scored her first collegiate goal in the first period, and
Aunna Schulte (FY, Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East HS) and
Emma Abrahamson (SO, Carpentersville, Ill./Hampshire HS) also scored goals for the Auggies.

Ruby Eskin (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Roseville HS),
Kate Haug (JR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) and
Grace Bonnell (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) each had two assists.

Marissa Paaske (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) had 14 saves.

• Augsburg is ranked No. 6 in both major NCAA Division III national polls, by USCHO.com and D-III Hockey News.
• Augsburg has now outscored its opponents by a 78-24 margin, leading the MIAC in both goals scored and fewest goals allowed.
FOR THE FOES
• Sarah Wagnen scored a power-play goal in the first period for St. Catherine.
• Anna Friendshuh had 29 saves in the first two periods for the Wildcats, with Lea Grassia recording nine saves in the third period.
