NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Augsburg University softball team dropped a pair of five-inning games to host St. Olaf College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Morgann Paaske (SR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) had two of Augsburg's four hits in the first game -- a solo home run in the first inning and an RBI single in the third inning, plating
Torrie Rehder (SR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS). Rehder and
Olivia Funk (SR, Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura HS) had the other Auggie hits in the game.
• St. Olaf scored two runs in the third, two runs in the fourth and five runs in the fifth inning to end the game via the NCAA eight-run rule.
• Paaske struck out three in a complete-game pitching effort.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored its lone run in the opening inning, as Rehder walked and scored on an RBI double by
Megan Gissler (SO, Louisville, Neb./Louisville HS).
• St. Olaf scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and four runs in the third inning.
• In addition to Gissler's double, Augsburg had base hits from
Grace Syson (SR, Oshkosh, Wis./Lourdes Academy HS) and
Zoe Adkins (JR, Homer, Alaska/Homer HS) in the game.
FOR THE FOES
• Medora Rylee went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI in the first game for St. Olaf.
• Elle Brandt hit a double and a home run in the second game, driving in two runs.
