MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University track and field teams competed at the University of Minnesota Gary Wilson Invitational on Wednesday.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Allison Hookom (JR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) finished in third place in the women's 400-meter dash in 57.15 seconds, only trailing two NCAA Division I athletes among the 25 competitors in the event. She also finished 23rd in the 200-meter dash in a personal-best 26.02 seconds.
•
Ruby Eskin (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Roseville HS) finished in 18th place in the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best 1:14.74.
•
Alwena Brix (FY, Plouay, France/Lycee Jean Mace, Rennes) recorded a 2:36.19 time in the 800-meter run, and
Nacia Griffin (FY, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins) set a season-best time for her second straight meet in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 13.24 seconds.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Brandon Travis (FY, Baton Rouge, La./Juan Seguin HS) set a season-best effort in the men's triple jump, finishing third with a 13.78-meter (45-feet-2.5) effort.
•
Pollei Buux Caliyare (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in seventh place in the 5,000-meter run in 19:33.96.
•
Evan Bitengo (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn./Anoka HS) finished in a season-best 53.99 seconds in the 400-meter dash, with
Kyler Badwarrior (FY, Shakopee, Minn./V. Sue Cleveland (N.M.) HS) finishing in 56.06 seconds.
• Jamir Horton (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Roseville HS) set a season-best in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:00.71.
• The Auggie 4x100-meter relay of
Carlton Onyia (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS),
Falens Byron (FY, Naples, Fla./Palmetto Ridge HS), Horton and Travis finished in third place in a season-best 43.39 seconds.
